Our History

Country Club of Vermont is set in the scenic valley created by the Worcester and Mansfield mountain ranges in Waterbury Center, Vermont. Our course, designed by Canadian architect and champion amateur golfer, Graham Cooke, is built among the beautiful vistas of the Green Mountains featuring a front nine reminiscent of the Irish links, while the back nine wanders through the trees and hills of Vermont. Golf Digest quickly ranked our course among the top in the state with its bent grass greens, tees and fairways framed by blue grass rough and outlined by native fescues.

In the years that followed, the Club added amenities to include an expansive Clubhouse, clay tennis courts and several group based activities all while establishing numerous Member leagues and tournaments as well as our signature Couching Lion Invitational, drawing ardent golfers from across the country. We are honored to have recently hosted both the Women's and Men's Vermont Amateurs as well as the New England Women's Amateur.

Boasting our 225 acre sanctuary of meticulously maintained grounds and facilities, golfers and nongolfers alike describe our site as a nothing short of magnificent. Come see what makes Country Club of Vermont truly Unspoiled, Unhurried... Unforgettable.
